Privacy Policy — Basma Parent App

This policy explains how the Basma Educational Academy Jeddah parent app ("the app") handles information. The app is provided by the school to parents and guardians of its students so they can follow their children's school life.

1. Who can use the app

Only parents and guardians who have an account created by the school. There is no public sign-up, and the app is not intended for use by children.

2. Information the app shows

After you sign in, the app displays information the school already holds about your own children in its school management system: profile and enrolment details, attendance and absence excuses, published report cards, and tuition contracts, installments and invoices. The app does not show information about other families.

3. Information the app collects

• Sign-in details: your email/username and password are sent securely (HTTPS) to the school's server to sign you in. The password is not stored on your phone; a session key is kept so you stay signed in until you sign out.
• Absence excuses: the reason you type when you submit an excuse is sent to the school.
• Notification token: if you allow notifications, a device token from Google Firebase Cloud Messaging is stored by the school so it can send you alerts about your children (absences, excuse decisions, report cards, payment reminders). It is deleted when you sign out.

The app does not collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers, and it contains no advertising or third-party analytics.

4. How information is used and shared

Information is used only to provide the app's features to you. It is stored on the school's servers (hosted on Odoo) and is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing. Notifications are delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging.

5. Security

All communication between the app and the school's server is encrypted (HTTPS). Access is limited to your own children's records.

6. Your rights

You may ask the school to access, correct or delete your information, or to close your account, in line with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). Signing out of the app removes the session and notification token from your phone.
